Antalya
This is the most popular and charming resort town that is nestled on a promontory cliff on the Mediterranean coast. This area features a picturesque walled old harbour and town, Kesik Minare, the monumental Hadrian’s Gate, Hidirlik Kulesi and Yivli Minare and Kesik Minare mosque, the round Roman tower and an excellent archaeological museum. The city is also the place for the finest Roman aqueduct of Turkey towards the north of the city.
Istanbul
The Istanbul is the only city throughout the world that spans over two continents which is also a lively cosmopolitan city. The illustrious past of the city has left over a rich legacy of brilliant palaces, churches, mosques and museums that are coupled with busy bazaars and a lively street market. Istanbul is made of three different district cities. The older city of Istanbul is blessed with gardens and parks.
Among thousands of fascinating sights the main attractions in the city include Topkapi which is the elegant palace of Ottoman sultans which overlook Bosphorus and MarmaraSea. The carefully decorated Blue Mosque is actually the only mosque throughout the world featuring six minarets. There is also the huge dome of Aya Sophia that was built during 536AD as the cathedral of Byzantine which was later considered as mosque and today it is an excellent museum.
You will also find the Yerebatan Sarayi which is vast Byzantine cistern and is supported by nearly 336 Corinthian Columns. The Grand Bazaar, the commercial heart of Istanbul is still an attractive sight for browsers and shoppers alike whereas the Kariye Camii also includes some of the best Byzantine mosaics that even survive today, which is just located along the narrow inlet from the Golden Horn.
